TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

Objective:

The overall objective of this contract is to contribute to strengthening the rule of law in Niger.

The specific objective is to contribute to improving the performance and quality of justice in Niger.

The expected results of the project are:

Result 1: The steering framework of the justice sector is strengthened and coordination between the various bodies is ensured and systematized;

Result 2: The LOLF is implemented within the Ministry of Justice;

Result 3: The policies and strategies adopted by the Ministry of Justice as part of the National Justice and Human Rights Policy are implemented.

Activities:

  • Diagnostic studies
  • Support for the management of sectoral policy funding, including capacity building and M&E
  • Support for the management of the justice sector, including surveys, training, organizational strengthening, E-administration, development of judicial statistics
  • Support for the reform process to improve access to the courts, including organisational support, and support to the fight against trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants
  • Strengthening the prison administration in the exercise of its missions to secure prisons and humanize detention, including training
