Strengthening the Public Sector for Cooperation with CSOs

Objective:

The overall objective of the project was to strengthen the democratic and participatory policy making processes in line with the European union values and pluralism in public institutions. The purpose of the Project is to ‘strengthen the capacity of key public institutions for communicating and collaborating with civil society at both central and local level’. This will be achieved through the combination of three results:

• Understanding of the concept and role of civil society amongst public officials, as well as their skills for communication, are increased.
• Institutional arrangements at central level for the coordination of Public-CSO cooperation are strengthened and a ‘Cooperation Know How’ is created.
• The skills and knowledge of local level representatives of Central Government and local CSOs towards promoting and supporting CSOs in decision-making processes are improved.
