Analysis of provision and dissemination of statistical information at the local level in Romania – Subsequent contract. no 5 of the FAT Framework Contract – LOT 1

Objective:
Overall objective of the contract is to provide guidance to improve the production and dissemination of statistical information in Romania, with particular attention to the needs for such information in the context of cohesion policy planning and implementation.
Specific objectives:
- Defining the demand of statistical information;
- An analysis of the current state of provision of data that could be used for statistical purposes;
3. Making recommendations on improving and establishing a mechanism to ensure a continuous flow of statistical information.
Activities:
Activity 1: Identifying demand for statistical information
1.1 Identification of existing indicators for the programming period 2007-2013
1.2 Identification of potential indicators for the programming period 2014 – 2020
1.3 Identification of statistical domains and allocation of indicators by domain
Activity 2: Analysis of data that could be used for statistical purposes
2.1 Inventory of the legal framework regarding the collection of data that could be used for statistical purposes
2.2 Identification of data providers and available data at the local level, which could be used for statistical purposes
2.3 Analysis of administrative capacity and technical data providers
2.4 Reconciliation of available data with the set of indicators
Activity 3: Analysis of gaps in providing data that can be used for statistical purposes
3.1 Summary of findings and analysis of identified gaps in the provision of statistical information
3.2 Formulate operational policies and relevant and feasible technical recommendations
Activity 4: Dissemination of contract results (workshop).
